Utaite singer Mafumafu performed on NHK Kouhaku Utagassen for the very first time, without a mask

Mafumafu, a utaite singer (Utaite is a term for people who cover previously released songs and post them on Nico Nico Douga or YouTube).

One of the most popular utaite singers known for his middle-high ranged voice, he is also known as a producer for VOCALOID originals and composes songs.

He is typically seen wearing a mask or blurring his lips but he announced he would be performing at the 72nd annual NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen without the mask.

After the performance, Mafumafu bowed and said, “I was very honored to have this precious opportunity, thank you”.
