MAX member NANA wants to buy an electric bike

MAX member NANA has been busy all her life. Attending the famous Okinawa Actor’s School, she was part of the group called Club Heart which featured Amuro Namie as the lead vocalist, before changing their name to the Super Monkeys.

At the age of 15, she moved to Tokyo and made her debut in 1992, while being known as a background dancer for Amuro Namie, that all changed when she, alongside Lina, Reina and Mina became members of a new Japanese female group known as MAX (Musical Active eXperience).

The group sold over 10 million records and have success with consecutive top ten singles in the groups earlier years, the group has no doubt had an amazing run.

In 2021, the group celebrated their 25th anniversary and now on their 26th.

In a column for withnews, NANA talked about childrearing and her personal activities but in a recent article NANA talks about wanting to buy her fifth bike this year.

NANA said, “What I want to buy this year is an apartment! I’d like to say that, but the lottery I bought at the end of the year was lost, so I gave up immediately (laughs) Now, the real thing I want to buy is a bicycle! Actually, I’m thinking of making my debut this year with an “electric bicycle for children”! When my son was 2 years old, he ran around and played a lot with the playset in the park, and his core was getting stronger little by little, so I think it’s okay, so I’m thinking about buying it. Nowadays, strollers are indispensable when going shopping or going out a little, but it’s cool to see moms carrying their children and running through them. I long for it. I’d like to have an electric bicycle that runs smoothly uphill, but when I look for them, there are many different types and types. Even if you think safety is your number one priority, you’re also concerned about design and use. If you like it, you may be too confused to decide.

Why does NANA love bikes, NANA said, “Even now, when I go out alone, I ride a cross bike type bicycle, and before my son was born, I often had a bicycle date with my husband. When the weather is nice, the wind feels good and it is a good exercise. When I go to the rehearsal of MAX LIVE, I sometimes ride it, and the bicycle is indispensable for me as a means of transportation and as an item to enjoy. With that in mind, how many units will this be, counting from childhood? The first bicycle was a pink bicycle that my grandfather bought when I was in elementary school. This is the most memorable and longest bike my grandfather bought right away when I heard that I rented a friend’s bike and grew out of it. However, the chain often came off or punctured (laughs), and my grandfather fixed it every time. Then when I came to Tokyo at the age of 15, I bought my first gold bicycle with my salary. Then I replaced it with a green geared bicycle and the black cross bike I’m riding now. If I buy another next time, it will be my 5th one. Somehow, just by remembering the bicycle I was riding at that time, various memories of that era is revived. Now, this year, if I buy it as planned, it will be my 5th ‘electric bicycle for children'”!

On January 1, 2022, a mini-album titled “Tora Tora” celebrating the year of the tiger included MAX’s “TORA TORA TORA”.
