Nissin Donbei Kitsune CM features what appears Dongitsune saying goodbye?

The Nissin Donbei CM is best known for featuring actress Yoshioka Rino as Dongitsune and the human that she has fallen for portrayed by Hoshino Gen.

The two were seen like a couple with Hoshino often eating “Nissin Donbei” for several years, but things started to take a turn in 2021.

Back in September, the two were seen as an attractive couple but did something happen? We saw Dongitsune with a serious look on her face and she takes Hoshino’s eye glasses and throws them out the window. While Hoshino’s character doesn’t appear. But then we see another man pick up the glasses. Who is this other man?

Then in October we saw Dongitsune with another man with glasses.

And in December, a new commercial shows Dongitsune with Hoshino Gen’s character, but then all of a sudden, also with many other men with glasses. In the solo commercial featuring Dongitsune with Hoshino Gen’s character, he hears another man talking and wonders what the noise was?

And in February 2022, we see the usual commercial of Dongitsune with Hoshino Gen enjoying Nissin Donbei but suddenly the walls fall down and feature Hoshino Gen in the middle of a snowy landscape and Dongitsune turning to a fox and looking back at him, while her clothes are left behind. Is she saying goodbye?

An older couple watches and the older man says, “young people are being fooled again, was it a fox?”, the woman says, “Yeah, it’s marketing”.
