“The Guard Man” actor Kawazu Yusuke has passed away

Actor Kawazu Yusuke (86, real name – Kawazu Yuichi) who gained popularity in the TBS series drama “The Guard Man” passed away on February 26th, the announcement of Kawazu’s death was on March 3rd.

Kawazu has been sick since last fall and has been receiving medical treatment. In 2009, he was a visiting professor at Kyoto University of Arts at the age of 75. Kawazu gave lectures and talk shows but held regular painting exhibitions.

Kawazu made his debut in 1958 with the film “Kono ten no Niji” (The Eternal Rainbow) and appeared in films such as Suzuki Seijun’s 1966 film “Kenka Eregi” (Fighting Elegy).

His older brother is film director Kawazu Yoshiro who passed away in 1972 and his second daughter, Kawazu Ai worked as an actress.
