Impulse comedian Tsutsumishita Atsushi will refrain from activities after getting in two car traffic accidents in one day

Tsutsumishita Atsushi, one half of the comedy duo, Impulse, will be refraining from activities after causing two traffic accidents in one day.

Yoshimoto Kogyo, the agency representing Tsutsumishita issued the following statement, “As reported, Tsutsumishita Atsushi (44 years old), who belongs to our company, was driving a passenger car in Setagaya-ku, Tokyo. We are currently cooperating with the police investigation to confirm the facts, and has decided to refrain from the activities under Yoshimoto Kogyo. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience to all concerned. We apologize for the inconvenience”.

Tsutsumishita then updated his Twitter and wrote, “As reported, I had a property damage accident on the 14th. When I got out of the parking lot of a convenience store, I bumped into a signboard and then into a guard pipe in quick succession. We sincerely regret having caused such an accident. I will respond sincerely to the police investigation. I will promptly proceed with compensation for the signboards and guard pipes that have been hit. Also, since I must not cause a similar accident, I decided to return the driver’s license. I will refrain from activities for a while to proceed with these ongoing procedures. I am very sorry”.

According to an eyewitness who witness the scene, they saw Tsutsumishita trying to stay awake.

Back in June 2017, Tsutsumishita took a sleeping pill and drove a car while trying to stay awake and collided with a utility pole. In October 2017, he while driving a passenger car in Yokohama City, he collided with a garbage truck that had stopped at a red light. He was served with paper but not prosecuted on suspicion of violating the Car Driving Penalty Act (negligent injury) for causing minor injuries to two male workers.
