Another celebrity has won a seat in the House of Councillors, former Onyanko Club idol Ikuina Akiko has won a seat on the House of Councillors for the Tokyo constituency of the Liberal Democratic Party, which has pretty much won in a landslide election.
Meanwhile, Ikuina’s camp fired back at TV Tokyo’s claims that she was unwilling to do an interview with the TV station on the day of ballot counting. Ikuina’s camp issued a protest letter to TV Tokyo:

Other celebrities winning a seat for the LDP includes SPEED’s Imai Eriko, actress Mihara Junko, while actor Yamamoto Taro, secured a seat for minor opposition party, Reiwa Shinsengumi. Yamamoto had earlier resigned as a legislator in the House of Representatives to run in the upper house race.
