Longtime NTV morning variety show “Sukkiri” will be ending, final episodes will be in March 2023

An NTV shocker, the informational variety show “Sukkiri” which has been broadcasted since April 2006, will be coming to an end in March 2023.

Jousei Prime announced the show is coming to an end. According to production company official, which told the publication, “In terms of viewership ratings, it’s far behind TV Asahi’s “Hatori Shinichi Morning Show”, which is the top of the same time slot. In addition, in March last year, a comedian who introduced a documentary depicting the Ainu people made a statement. It became a problem and was criticized immediately after the broadcast. In July of the same year, the Broadcasting Ethics and Program Improvement Organization (BPO) pointed out that it was a “violation of broadcasting ethics” as “including clear discriminatory expressions”, and there were rumors that the program would end at that time. And so it was done”.
