Popular YouTuber Raphael with 1.79 million subscribers updated his YouTube channel by the 27th. He reported that he borrowed 100 million yen from his friend Hikaru, a top YouTuber.

Raphael has created an era by starting video distribution in the 2010s, before YouTube became popular. Recently, however, he has revealed that his earnings have plummeted, saying that “advertising income has fallen to 1/10”, and he has also frankly talked about the current situation, such as moving his house from a prime location in Tokyo.

On the 26th, he updated the video titled “[Bankruptcy] I borrowed 100 million yen from Hikaru”.

Raphael said, “What should I do about YouTube management in the future… I can’t continue with my hobby as a negative. So, I’m thinking of borrowing money from my friend Hikaru”.

He visited Hikaru and begged him to lend him “100 million yen in a year” because “it is difficult to manage money on YouTube”. Hikaru dismissed him as saying, “You have money, right?”

Rafael said, “I’m collaborating with Hikaru now, and the number of views is returning, so I’ll return it with advertising revenue”.

In addition, he said, “I reduced my monthly rent by 990,000 yen by moving,” and explained specifically that there was a plan to pay off the debt, saying, “I saved 6 million yen in fixed costs alone.”

Hikaru agreed, saying, “Then 100 million yen a year and 30 million yen in interest,” and signed the contract.

Raphael shows a video of 100 million yen in cash as evidence and says, “It’s hard to make money on YouTube”. He confessed that things are tough. He said that the money he borrowed this time will be used for video planning, filming, and ongoing fund-raising activities.

Rafael continued, “It takes a lot of things, so I’m officially borrowing it as a company,” he explained again. Regarding the current office, he announced that he would move to a new place, saying, “The rent here is also expensive, so I will move out”.
