It was revealed on the 26th that KOM_I, the former vocalist of the music unit “Wednesday Campanella” and an artist, gave birth to her first child on the 22nd. Her partner, film director and cultural anthropologist Ota Mitsuumi, reported on Instagram.
Ota said on his Instagram Stories, “On July 22nd, my first son was born safely! What a double birthday with KOM_I. I’m busy, but I’ll post again slowly. We do not intend to register our marriage. Both of us think that our relationship is based solely on mutual trust. The reason is that we want to build a family and we feel reluctance to change to a family name. I want same-sex marriage and optional married couples to have separate surnames in the Japanese marriage system. Flexible to modern society where there are various families”.
