Matsui Jurina posted an update on her Instagram for the first time in five months

Former SKE48/AKB48 member Matsui Jurina has faced an uphill battle with health issues before her graduation from SKE48 and also after. And no one has heard much from her since she announced her suspension of activities due to poor physical condition.

For the first time in five months, Matsui Jurina posted a photo with a two-shot with pop star Koda Kumi.

Matsui, who has admired Mr. Koda since elementary school, performed Koda’s song “anytime” at the SKE48 audition. It seems that she went to Koda-san’s tour final held on July 30th and met with her backstage.

Matsui said that she had met Mr. Koda with her family at a professional wrestling venue in the past, saying, “That was the first time I had a chance to talk to her properly… she was very kind. I admire both Kumi Koda as an artist and Kumi as a mom. I am truly grateful to Koda Kumi for giving me dreams and hopes, even now and in the past. I hope I can sing on stage again.”

Matsui experienced two hiatuses due to poor physical condition in 2018 and 2019 when she was in SKE48 (and concurrently with AKB489). In April 2021, she graduated from the group and started solo activities, but from April 2022, she has been on hiatus due to poor health.
