The “Gundam SEED Series” retrospective event “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FESTIVAL ~CONNECT Beyond That Era~” was held in Tokyo on the 19th.

At the event, the theme song of the movie “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM” to be released on January 26th next year will be “FREEDOM” by Nishikawa Takanori with Komuro Tetsuya was also announced.

This is the first time in about 20 years that Nishikawa Takanori (53) has performed the theme song for a series. The song will be produced by Komuro Tetsuya (64), who Nishikawa respects.

Nishikawa confessed that he was conflicted, saying, “It’s been many years since the theatrical version was announced, but the situation surrounding the world has changed dramatically over the last 20 years, so to be honest, I was quite worried. I’m honestly looking forward to seeing how everyone takes it and how it will resonate with everyone”.

This is Komuro’s first collaboration with Nishikawa. This is the first time he has been in charge of music for a Gundam series since “Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack” was released in 1988.

Komuro praised Nishikawa’s singing voice, saying, “I’m overwhelmed by his singing ability, which is as expected”. He expressed his expectations for the song, saying, “Please look forward to the theatrical release!”.
