The play “A Streetcar Named Desire,” starring actress Sawajiri Erika (37), who has resumed her entertainment career, celebrated its final performance on the 25th at Morinomiya Piloti Hall in Osaka. At the curtain call, Sawajiri expressed her gratitude and renewed his determination, saying, “I will continue to do my best step by step to grow as a person and as an actor”.

On this day, Sawajiri burst into tears as everyone at the venue gave a standing ovation and cheered “welcome back.”

In her curtain call greetings, Sawajiri said, “Thank you very much everyone for today. I’m really sorry that this is a personal matter, but I would like to just say one thing to express my feelings right now. I have a lot of feelings and a lot of things to say. But anyway, I want to say thank you to everyone. I would like to thank everyone at the company, my family, and friends who have really supported me up until now, as well as the director and all the staff who helped create the stage together, and most of all, the wonderful co-stars. I’m grateful to be able to stand on stage with everyone. And most of all, thank you to all the fans for waiting until now. I will continue to work hard step by step to grow as a person and as an actor. I will continue to work hard step by step so that I can become someone who can bring smiles and excitement to everyone. Thank you very much for today”.

Sawajiri was arrested in November 2019 for violating the Drug Control Law, and her three-year suspended sentence ended in February last year.
