Nishino Kana’s “I Love You” to be the theme song for the film “Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun” (My Little Monster)

It was announced that Nishino Kana’s new song “I Love You” (to be released on April 18th) will be the theme song for the live film adaption “Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun” (better known in the west as “My Little Monster”) based on Robico’s manga.  Also announced is that her song”Best Friend” will be used as an insert song.

Nishino commented, “I’m  honored that I will have a theme song for the film “Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun”.  The theme song “I Love You” is a love song with a message.  Even though you may feel clumsy towards each other, like spring drops which gradually pass through our hearts, you will be happy when you listen to this song and feel the bond growing with the people most important to you.”

The film is about a girl named Mizutani Shizuku (portrayed by Tsuchiya Tao) who has no interested but studying an planning for her future, so she is often looked at as a person that is emotionless and very cold.  Meanwhile, a guy named Yoshida Haru (portrayed by Suda Masaki), who sits next to Shizuka is often absent from school.

Because of Haru’s innocence and lack of social interaction and is seen as a violent, uncontrollable monster.

One day, Shizuku is given a task to deliver class printouts to Haru’s home.  When she meets him, Shizuku sees his kind and gentle side.  And Haru immediately declares his love for Shizuku.

But will these two very different unsociable individuals exist together?

“Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun” road show opening begins on April 27th.
