Why did GLAY’s TERU change his Twitter and Instagram profile photo?

For fans of GLAY and vocalist TERU, some may be surprised by his Twitter and Instagram profile photo showcasing a white faced person with hardly any teeth.  What’s going on?

It turns out that the photo is actually of Kukki of the comedy duo Yasei Bakudan.  Kukki is well-known for his hilarious photos of him trying to look like other celebrities by putting on white make up and drawing dark lines on his face.

As for GLAY’s TERU, TERU wrote that he changed his photo to a person with white makeup and lack of teeth and that he doesn’t follow Kukki.

And while he didn’t see the imitation on the Fuji TV series “Netaparade” on the 23rd but did see Kukki’s impression on SNS (social media – Social Networking Service).

Kukki was overwhelmed by TERU’s generosity and replied with many hash tags, which TERU replied with a “Thank you. I am honored”.

But while people are amused by TERU’s humor, there is no doubt that fans are spooked out by it.

Fans have posted in the comments “Please go back to your original photo” or “YES!  Please bring back your original photo”.

As of February 25th, TERU continues to use Kukki’s imitation photo as his Twitter and Instagram profile photo.
