“Nemuri Kyoshiro” and “Furuhata Ninzaburo” actor Tamura Masakazu to retire?

“FRIDAY” has an article saying that actor Tamura Masakazu will be announcing his retirement.

Tamura is best known for starring in the TV series “Nemuri Kyoshiro” which began in 1972 and has since returned to the roles in 1989, 1993, a film in 1995, 1996, 1998 and most recently in 2018 for “Nemuri Kyoshiro The Final”.

Tamura is also known for his role in “Papa wa Newscaster” (1987) and the investigator drama “Furuhata Ninzaburo”.

“FRIDAY” was told by a “TV station official” that only a few people know of Tamura retiring from the entertainment industry, partly because “Kyoshiro The Final” which broadcasted on Fuji TV back in February didn’t have strong ratings.

The publication was able to track down Tamura and ask him if he was going to retire.  Tamura responded, “Yeah, I thought I at times of retiring but there are staff who care about me and I tell them that I want to relax and I look forward to having days of unemployment”.

But until you see an official announcement of retirement made by Tamura and his management, it’s best to believe that Tamura Masakazu still has many years left in him as an actor to entertain audiences.
