Utada Hikaru’s seventh album “Hatsukoi” will go on sale on June 27th – Album cover & track listing revealed!

As she celebrates her 20th anniversary since debut, Utada Hikaru has so far digitally released “Play A Love Song” (CM song for Suntory Minami-Alps Sparkling) and the release date for digital single “Hatsukoi” (image song for TBS Drama “Hana nochi Hare – Hanadan Next Season”) is slated for May 30.

19 months from her album “Fantôme” in 2016 which proved her talents to stand the test of time beyond the hiatus, “Hatsukoi” will be her seventh studio album marking the 20th anniversary in 2018 and also the very first album released since making Epic Records Japan the new home for her music. The cover of this very special album was revealed today.

Photos were done by Takay, a Japanese photographer now based in NYC whose photos have been featured in major fashion publications such as “Harper’s Bazaar Germany” and “L’Uomo Vogue” as well as global-scale advertising campaigns for Armani Jeans and Y-3. The cover photo brilliantly captures Hikaru Utada as she is in all her genuineness, while also showcasing her inner strength as well as depth and maturity developed over her twenty-year career.

Also revealed today was the album’s track list. The twelve tracks include her first release with Epic Records Japan, “Oozora de Dakishimete” (SUNTORY Tennensui CM song) from 2017, “Forevermore” (Theme song of TBS Sunday Theatre “Gomen, Ai Shiteru”), “Anata” (Main theme for movie ‘DESTINY Kamakura Monogatari’/SONY ‘Noican, wireless’ CM song), “Chikai” (Theme song for “KINGDOM HEARTS III”), “Hatsukoi” (Image song for TBS Drama “Hana nochi Hare – Hanadan Next Season”), “Play A Love Song” (Suntory Minami-Alps Sparkling CM song), and the most recently announced “Good Night” (Theme song for animated feature film Penguin Highway), counting a remarkable total of 7 out of 12 album tracks with major media tie-ins.

For fans looking forward to seeing Hikaru Utada live, the first run of the album comes with a chance to enter a draw for early purchase of tickets to the concert tour scheduled for late 2018.
