But when Oshima Yuko returns, she will be starring in a stage version of Fyodor Dostoevsky’s “Tsumitobachi” (Crime and Punishment) with Miura Haruma (of the music group, Brash Brats).
The performance will be Oshima’s first stage appearance in three years.
Miura will be playing the role of the protagonist (in the Russian play the name is Raskolnikov) about a 23-year-old former student who is destitute. Despite being handsome and beautiful, he is cold, apathetic, antisocial bu can also be warm and compassionate. He commits murder as acts of charity.
Oshima will be playing the role of Sonya, the daughter of a drunkard and a prostitute who helps to rehabilitate Raskolnikov.
Oshima said, “I have been away for awhile form acting, but I want to devote my mind to this work and put my passion towards Sonya”.
The play will be performed at the Bukamura Theater Cocoon in Shibuya, Tokyo in January 2019.
