Kago Ai performed at her first day for “Hello! Project 2018 SUMMER” at Nakano Sun Plaza

Kago Ai announced back in June that she was allowed to take part in Hello! Project activities once again and that she would be a special guest for the “Hello! Project 2018 SUMMER”.

With the 20th Anniversary, Kago performed at the August 25th event and will be performing again for the August 26th performance at Nakano Sun Plaza.

The 26th event will feature Morning Musume’s Yoshizawa Hitomi and Morning Musume and Petit Moni’s Yasuda Kei.

Kago took to Instagram to share a photo with her and the other performers:

Kago Ai began her career as a member of Morning Musume at the age of 12 and she was a founding member of Minimoni. She graduated from Morning Musume and Minimoni and formed a new group called W with Tsuji Nozomi.

In 2006, tabloid “Friday” published photos of 15-year-old Kago Ai smoking and she was suspended indefinitely. She was kept in house arrest and not allowed to have any contact with any members from Up Front Agency but was caught smoking during her probation.

While a comeback was in the plans for 2007, Kago was caught by a tabloid going to an onsen with an 18-year-old guy and smoking, which led to her dismissal from the agency.

After more unfortunate situations in her personal life, Kago has worked hard to rehabilitate her career as an actress and a return to music thereafter. She has since remarried and is also a mother to two children.

Many fans have long waited for Kago Ai to reunite with her fellow Morning Musume and Hello! Project co-members and after many years, it finally become a reality.
