Kamen Joshi’s Igari Tomoka made her first appearance at Kamen Joshi CAFE since her accident

Igari Tomoka made her first appearance as a member of Kamen Joshi since an unfortunate accident back in April which left her paralyzed from the waist down.

Igari appeared at Kamen Joshi Cafe in Akihabara on August 26th.  Her first time in four months and when she got on stage and greeted the audience, Igari said, “I’m home!”.

Originally it was announced that Igari will take part in an event at Kyocera Dome where the Orix Buffaloes will be taking on the Saitaima Seibu Lions (which happens to be Igari’s favorite team) on August 31st and September 1st but because of rehabilitation in the hospital, the discharge from the hospital is at a later date.  However, she received permission to go to Kyocera Dome and will be appearing as the official special navigator for the Lions Cup Wheelchair Softball Tournament hosted by the Saitama Seibu Lions on September 2nd.

Also, Igari has agreed to throw the starting pitch for the Saitama Seibu Lions on September 9th.  Igari was able to throw the starting pitch on September 8, 2017 which was a dream when she was younger.

As for the special announcement, Igari said that after learning about para sports, she decided that she wanted to challenge para sport and also she will be writing the lyrics for Kamen Joshi for a song that will be released at the end of the year.

Igari was taken to ICU for emergency surgery back in April 11th.

There was a spring storm and a strong gust of wind blew a signboard that was standing near the main gate of Yushima Seido in Bunkyo Ward which collapsed and hit Igari, who was walking by.

Igari was paralyzed from the waist down but has been going through therapy and despite her injuries, Igari wanted to work hard to come back on stage to make an appearance, although limited.

And you can see her performing in her wheelchair with her fellow members on the official Kamen Joshi website.
