Reviewed back in January 1994

In 1987, musician and singer Chisato Moritaka made her official debut as a music artist. A former Pocari Sweat Image Girl (a contest she won a year before her debut), Chisato Moritaka would become Japan’s top female idol performer in the late ’80s leading up to the early ’90s.  Moritaka made her return to music in 1993 with a more mature look and a mature sound.

Last single, I raved about “Kaze ni Fukarete” and raved about this new and mature Chisato Moritaka.  Remember that?  Well, this latest single “Rock’n Omelette” (her 21st CD single)  is a much different single than any of her previous releases and that it is pretty much aimed at a different demographic and that it is aimed for children.
The song was created for FUJI TV’s “PONKICKIES” and for the most part, it is a fun Chisato Moritaka 50’s style rock song but it’s more of an early morning song about mom cooking a great omelette for breakfast for dad and her omelette is a sign of love and affection for dad.
The second track is the original karaoke for “Rock’n Omelette”.
Overall, this single may not be for everyone but I’m sure Moritaka Chisato fans will love this latest single and of course, the children and “PONKICKIES” fans as well.
