ONE OK ROCK’s Tomoya issues an apology after FRIDAY article

ONE OK ROCK’s Tomoya (31) issued an apology on the Japanese website of ONE OK ROCK after a woman he hooked up with seven years ago told her story to the tabloid, FRIDAY.

In the recent issue of FRIDAY, a woman named Ayumi is upset at ONE OK ROCK drummer Tomoya for abandoning her.

She was 16 years-old and a nigh school student and met Tomoya (who was 24 at the time and they met through an acquaintance who ran a bar).

After drinking together, the two had sex, despite her telling him that she was underaged and didn’t seem he understood of what she was trying to say.

While the two would correspond via e-mail and have numerous hookups, after graduating from high school, he stopped writing her.

Last year, she saw on Instagram that he got married and she tried to contact him but he never replied back or answer by phone.  Ayumi said she no longer wants to see him because she no longer looks like the person she was when she was younger.

After the FRIDAY article was picked up by the media, Tomoya issued the following statement:

I apologize for inconveniencing our fans, members, management and to the woman as reported in the media.

Seven years ago, when we debuted, I only thought about myself and working hard with the band and I really didn’t understand much about social things and I regret that I was an immature person.

I will continue to devote of fulfilling the expectations of those supporting the band in the future, so please continue your support.
