HYDE is praised by netizens on how he handled himself at Summer Sonic 2022, ONE OK ROCK’s Taka apologizes

As ONE OK ROCK’s Taka is getting a lot of heat for trying to get the audience pumped and scream for his introduction of Megan Thee Stallion and declared that he was probably going to get banned from every festival and said he would apologize if he gets yelled at the end. And then saying, “I’m sure there are people among us who are thinking, ‘Stop it!’ If you don’t like it, why don’t you do something like this? Why don’t you try reducing the number of times you breathe? It’s a joke”.

While Taka was having fun during his MC, he said those words, despite the festival’s strict rules of trying to prevent people from screaming or artists/bands to incite crowds to do large cheers in order to reduce the risk of the novel coronavirus.  Many Japanese were upset by Taka’s behavior, calling him out as being childish (for who live outside of Japan, Japanese audiences follow the rules strictly and have a disdain for rule breaking).

Meanwhile, L’Arc~en~Ciel vocalist, HYDE was praised for his MC at Summer Sonic 2022.

HYDE took the stage for his MC portion and said, “I’m happy that so many cute girls gathered today. However, the number of infected people has also increased. On the other hand, It’s a pity that there are so many people but we can’t cheer loudly. Unlike before Corona, each of us has their own space, though it’s crumbling a bit. That place is the place you guys spent three years winning over Corona. Use it effectively!”

Meanwhile, Taka took to Instagram to apologize, “Thank you Summer Sonic 2022 Tokyo. I believe everyone in the venue felt my feelings. But it’s not okay. To all the people I’ve offended. I’m so sorry”.
