Former NGT48 member Kitahara Rie to star in stage version of Tezuka Osamu’s “Dororo”

With the anime series “Dororo” to be aired on January 2019, a stage version will also happen.

Suzuki Hiroki will have the main role of Hyakkimaru, a ronin during the Sengoku period.  Born malformed and limbless and without facial features or internal organs, a doctor gave the child prosteheses and a special blade grafted into his left arm to take on and kill supernatural entities.  Suzuki will also be doing the voice for Hyakkimaru in the anime series.

Kitahara Rie, former NGT48 member will take on the lead role of Dororo, a young thief who joins Hyakkimaru in his travels and adventures.

Arashiwa Kotaro will play the role of Tahomaru, the brother of Hyakkimaru.  Karahashi Mitsuru plays the role of KAgemitsu Daigo, Hyakkimaru’s father and a samurai who forged a pack with the 48-sealed demons so that he can rule the land.

The stage version will begin on March 2nd-3rd in Osaka at the Umeda Arts Theater, March 7-17th at the Tokyo Sunshine Theater, March 20th in Fukuoka at the Momochi Palace and on March 23rd in Mie at the Mie Prefectural Cultural Center.
