Athlete Takei Soso presented Kamen Joshi’s Igari Tomoka with a special gift

Takei Soso posted on Instagram of the gift he gave Kamen Joshi’s Igari Tomoka.

The wheelchair was unveiled at a live show on May 1st and many fans have said it is “the coolest wheelchair in the world”.

Last May, a producer at Kamen Joshi and Takei, who had been friends for over 20 years talked about how Igari was aiming to make a return on stage and he made a promise that he would present Igari with a wheelchair that she could use on the bright stage.

Takei wrote, “Kamen Joshi’s Igari Tomoka, whose lower body was paralyzed in an unforeseen accident. I gave her a wheelchair that was lit with LED’s for the stage. It was unveiled yesterday on stage and many fans saw her performance. It was a wonderful step forward. While she endured many painful things, the first step is always important. Do your best!”.

Igari shared photos from her taking part in a one-man live for Kamen Joshi:

Igari was taken to ICU for emergency surgery back in April 11th of 2018.

There was a spring storm and a strong gust of wind blew a signboard that was standing near the main gate of Yushima Seido in Bunkyo Ward which collapsed and hit Igari, who was walking by.

Igari was paralyzed from the waist down but has been going through therapy and despite her injuries, Igari has worked hard to perform on stage via limited performances.  But also has been a huge advocate for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
