Unemployed man arrested for not leaving an electronics store, because he wanted to watch baseball on television

An unemployed man (51) was arrested by Yamato police in Kanagawa Prefecture on June 14th for not complying to the store’s request to leave.

Arrested at 7:30 p.m., the store manager (41) asked the man to leave the consumer electronic retail store but the man sat in a chair in the TV section that evening to watch a professional baseball broadcast for several days.

The store manager reported that they presented the man with a warning if he continued and the man continued to sit in the chair and watch baseball.

The arrested man told police, “I watched baseball at the store because I don’t own a television”.
