Shinkai Makoto’s “Tenki no Ko” has surpassed 10 billion yen in box office revenue

Shinkai Makoto’s latest work “Tenki no Ko” has exceeded 10 billion yen in box office revenue.

The film is ranked #1 in Japanese box office revenue for 2019 and joins the following list of top 10 films that have surpassed 10 billion yen in the box office:

1. Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi (Spirited Away) – 30.8 billion yen
2. Kimi no Na wa. (Your name) – 25.3 billion yen
3. Hauru no Ugoku Shiro (Howl’s Moving Castle) – 19.6 billion yen
4. Mononoke Hime (Princess Mononoke) – 19.3 billion yen
5. Odoru Daisosasen the Movie 2 – Rainbow Bridge wo Fuusa seyo! – 17.3 billion yen
6. Gake no Ue no Ponyo (Ponyo on the Cliff) – 15.5 billon yen
