“TERRACE HOUSE: TOKYO 2019-2020” Episode 13 (Spoiler Alert) – All or Nothing

With the latest episode of “TERRACE HOUSE: TOKYO 2019-2020”, we have seen the drama playing out between Yoshihara Kenji aka Kenny who is the musician and vocalist for SPiCYSOL and fitness trainer Tanabe Risako.

It’s obvious both care for each other, but when it comes down to it, will one reciprocate the other’s feelings.

Episode 13, we find out what happens!

A special guest for the episode is NBA star for the Washington Wizards, Hachimura Rui (first player from Japan drafted to the NBA), who will be part of episode 13 and 14.

As for the show, it begins with the last episode of focusing on Kenny and Risako and how Risako told Kenny how she always looks forward to seeing him when she gets home but she also is a person that likes to take the time to get to know the person and not rush into things.

Kenny finally confessed his feeling to her.

The two went out on a date to the beach and he told her that he and his band will be touring in July and he thought if about leaving the Terrace House because if he stayed, he wouldn’t be in the house all that much.

So, Kenny asks Risako of what she thought about him and she tells him that while she is attracted to him, her attraction is not that serious (Honest but yet…Ouch!).

Kenny told the guys that he’s leaving the house and what happened with him and Risako and being dumped. And starts tearing up and we can see how he was hurt by being dumped.

But the news of Kenny leaving the house made Nishinoiri Ruka emotional as Kenny was always there to support him everyday.

In truth, Risako admits to Matsuzaki Shohei that she really does like him and you can tell that she has been crying. She explains to Shohei that she doesn’t know what to do because he is 32 and wanting to get married, she’s only 21 and not wanting to get married. She doesn’t know what to do.

Shohei tells her that if she feels that way, to tell Kenny that. But she says she can’t. She told him how she feels and we see her crying and we know it’s tough.

Just a little note for people who don’t follow Japanese entertainment, there are numerous entertainment couples in which the age gap is around 10-25 years. While there is an 11-year gap between Kenny and Risako, I don’t see the age situation being too much of a hindrance, but the thought of marriage, having a family and with Kenny being a music artist, traveling on tour, and also being on the show and not being on the show, what would happen if both agreed, but Kenny still had to tour and leave the show?

We have seen in past “Terrace House” with couples where a couple stays together and let their relationship play onscreen, while others who just left the show together. Last season, “Terrace House: Opening New Doors”, the latter was evident.

It’s important to note that Kenny and Risako weren’t the only one’s focused on, illustrator Watanabe Kaori listened to Nishinoriri Ruka and Ruka still wants to work in something related to Marvel Comics. So, he wants to work at an Avengers Bar. Poor Watanabe, sometimes I feel her patience with Ruka is wearing thin. Fortunately, she is busy with work to allow Ruka’s naivety get the best of her.

Meanwhile, Aizawa Yusuke (from “Terrace House: Aloha State”) and actress Okuyama Haruka go out for dinner and you can tell the two enjoy each other’s company.  But while the two gel well, Haruka’s time with Aizawa seems more like friends.  I don’t see a relationship happening between these two.  Aizawa is a good guy.  A talented musician and while we can root for the good guy hoping to date the beautiful actress, I just don’t picture these two together right now.  Maybe 15-20 years later, but not now.

We see Kenny of SPiCYSOL singing live and dedicating a song to a special someone and Risako is in tears.

The group goes out to dinner and Kenny tells the other two ladies of his intention of leaving.

While the ladies are sad, Kaori asks Kenny if he grown through the process of living at the Terrace House and he says that he is able to be more forward and tell the person he cares about of how he feels and we see Risako crying.

Risako bursts out that she really likes him but it’s not her place to say that she wants him to stay in the Terrace House. (Poor Risako, her emotions are now coming out and Kenny realizes it…shocked because he thought he was dumped because she didn’t care, but hearing her, he realizes, Risako does care for him a lot!).

The two have a discussion before heading off to bed!

Ahh, the hosts are really on point with episode 13!!!    Hilarious but also on-point!

Personally, the best episode of the season so far!
