AKB48’s Kashiwagi Yuki promotes project for hepatitis testing

AKB48’s Kashiwagi Yuki is promoting a project for people to get tested for hepatitis.

The program titled “Shitte, Kanen Project x TOKYO FM Aki no tokubetsu bangumii kokai Rokuon Event~ Shitte, kanen Project Presents!  Aru Aki no Hi no Koto Kenko Dai Ichi Special~” (Knowing, Hepatitis Project x TOKYO FM Autumn Special Program Public Recording Event – Knowing, Hepatitis Project Presents! One Autumn Day Health First Special”.

The event was held at Tokyo FM Hall on November 2nd and the project calls for the importance of hepatitis virus testing.

Over 300 million people worldwide are estimated to be infected with the hepatitis virus and hepatitis is the world’s largest infectious disease which can cause serious damage to one’s health if left untreated.

Kashiwagi Yuki, a member of AKB48 and a special supporter of the project, took the first test for hepatitis (by giving a blood sample) and said, “I was scared before the test, but it was surprisingly very fast, so I hope everyone will take it”.

Kashiwagi continued, “If you have never been tested for the hepatitis virus, you may be worried, but don’t be afraid to take the test once!  I want people know the importance of getting tested.”
