Hanshin Tigers pitcher Fujinami Shintaro has tested positive for COVID-19

Hanshin Tigers pitcher Fujinami Shintaro (25) has tested positive for COVID-19.

Fujinami becomes the first active baseball player to test positive.

A few days ago, Fujinami visited a doctor at a hospital due to not being able to smell and taste anything.  He was unable to smell wine or coffee and consulted with two hospitals in Hyogo Prefecture.

The Hanshin Tigers athletes for both the pro and minor league (1st and 2nd army) have been asked to self-quarantine at home.

UPDATE: Ito Hayata (outfielder, 30) and Nagasaka Kenya (catcher, 25) have tested positive. Both men had dinner with Fujinami on March 14th.
