The Climax Series is now over and now we have a showdown as the Hiroshima Carp win 4-2 against the Yokohama DeNA Baystars to secure a Central League finals matchup against the dominating Hanshin Tigers.

Meanwhile, the Chiba Lotte Marines beat the Softbank Hawks with an exciting walk-off win and now, setting up a Pacific League finals matchup against reigning champions, the Orix Buffaloes.

With the exception of the Orix Buffaloes who ended their final season drought in 2022 and became the champions since 1996, the Hiroshima Carp has not won a Japan Series since 1984, while the Hanshin Tigers have not won a Japan Series since 1985. The Chiba Lotte Marines won the Japan Series in 2005 and 2010.

For those who are not familiar with Japanese baseball, those who clinch the Central and Pacific League automatically get a 1-0 win in the final series which is best out of seven games. So, both Hanshin Tigers and Orix Buffaloes each have a win going into the 2-3-2 best-of-seven series.
