Game Freak employee tested positive for COVID-19

GAME FREAK, best known for creating the “Pokemon” video games announced that one of their employees had tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The employee has been admitted to a medical facility under the guidance of the public health center and doctor.

Since the end of January, GAME FREAK said they have reviewed face-to-face meetings, banned overseas travel, recommended less commutes and encouraged employees to wash their hands, gargle and wear a mask to prevent infections.  On April 1st, all employees began working from home.

The employee in question has not bee in the office since April 2nd, so it is not necessary to take measures such as temporary closing their office.

GAME FREAK said going forward, they will take swift action based on government policy, with the highest priority  is to prevent infection of spreading inside and outside the company and to ensure the safety and health of their customers, business partners, employees and their families.
