Comic Market 99 (Winter Comiket) has been canceled, focusing on GW 2021

Comiket 99 (Comic Market 99) has been canceled.

It was announced on the official SNS of Comic Market that Comiket 99 will not be held due to the postponement of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic games.  The use of the venue Tokyo Big Sight will continue to be restricted and the organizers are complying with guidelines to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus infection.

Organizers said they will focus on GW 2021 (Golden Week 2021) and more details will be announced in the fall.

コミックマーケット98は、サークル参加を受け付けて当落も発表し、カタログも刊行したため「中止の上、欠番」という対応をさせていただきましたが、コミックマーケット99は「延期」ということになりますので、よろしくお願いします（念のため）。#C99

Back in March, it was announced that Comiket 98 (Summer Comic Market) was canceled to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

This was the first time Comiket has ever canceled an event which has had consecutive events since 1975.
