Comic Market 99 confirmed that vaccination/PCR test documentation will be needed to attend event

Comic Market Planning Committee announced on its website that for Comic Market 99 scheduled on December 30-31st, for admission, they will need to confirm that an attendee has a vaccination documentation and a PCR test result documentation.

Comic Market 99 was originally scheduled to be held during Golden Week 2021 (May 2-4), but it was postponed due to the effects of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus infection). The Comic Market has not been held since Comic Market 97 back in 2019.

According to the Comic Market Planning Committee, the new C99 is scheduled to attract about 55,000 visitors per day based on various standards and conditions as of November 11, 2021, and the scale of the event as planned so far. Although it will be a fraction of what it they usually get in attendance, it will be one of the largest events in Japan in 2021. Therefore, it was decided to voluntarily take measures beyond what is normally required, and as part of that, it was decided to “introduce the government’s” vaccine/test documentation” requirements and participate in the government’s technical demonstration.”

To avoid crowds on the day, the venue (at Tokyo Big Sight) will be divided into “East District (East Exhibition Building)” and “Southwest District (Conference Building, West Exhibition Hall, South Exhibition Building)”, and after 9 o’clock, the bridge connecting the two districts will be managed. Will be closed, and in principle, will be impassable. In addition, tickets required for general participation and cosplay will be sold on a district-by-district basis, and will be exchanged for wristband-type participation certificates for each district on the day of the event. As a general rule, you cannot enter a district that is different from your participation certificate.

When entering, the participants must provide “the vaccination certificate of the novel corona vaccine (vaccination certificate or vaccination record (photocopies will be taken) or PCR test result documentation will be confirmed.” As a result of confirmation of the vaccine/test documentation, attendees will also be required to wear a wristband.

In addition, general participants need to purchase tickets in advance. If the number of applications exceeds the planned number of sales, there will be a lottery. In addition, there is no free admission for people who do not have a ticket to enter.
