Nogizaka46’s Ikuta Erika performs on “Music Station Summer 3.5 hour special”

It has not been an easy week for Nogizaka46’s Ikuta Erika since the death of Miura Haruma.

Ikuta co-starred with Miura Haruma in the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical “Whistle Down the Wind ~Immaculate Eyes~” in which Miura was to play a man who broke out of jail and Ikuta would play the role of a pure girl who believed the man was a reincarnation of Jesus Christ.

The performance was to take place as Nissei Theatre in Tokyo from March 7th to the 29th and be performed in numerous cities throughout Japan but due to the spread of the novel coronavirus, the performance schedule was significantly shortened.

With the announcement of Miura’s death, she canceled her appearance on TBS’ large live special program “Music Day” on July 18th. Ikuta was scheduled to perform “Disney Songs Top 10 Covers Chosen by Fans”.

But Ikuta Erika managed to perform with Nogizaka46 for their new song “Route 246” at the “Music Station Natsu no 3-Jiukan Han SP” on the 24th.  But many people watching the performance were concerned for Ikuta who looked thin and not as lively as she usually is and shared their thoughts on SNS.

Prior to the performance, Ikuta posted on Instagram of how difficult things were for her but she knows that she must work hard and move forward and from here on in, she will do her best.
