AKB48 veteran Oya Shizuka has tested positive for COVID-19

AKB48 announced that AKB48 veteran Oya Shizuka (28) tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

On August 11th, Oya had a fever of 37.7 degrees on Tuesday afternoon.  Her fever dropped later that evening but then she had a cough.  But she did not have any pain or any major symptoms but on August 12th, she felt very fatigued and visited a medical institution in Tokyo in the evening and decided to have a PCR test under a doctor’s discretion.

As a result of t test, she was diagnosed with having the novel coronavirus on Tuesday, August 13th.

At this time, she has no symptoms of fever, cough or any major symptoms but she is quarantining at home under the instructions of the public health center.  She had no close contacts with members or staff.
