TV station and a record label staff talk about former TOKIO Yamaguchi Tatsuya’s problem with alcohol

A TV station staff member and a record label staff member have talked about their experience with former TOKIO member Yamaguchi Tatsuya in a recent article on Josei Prime.

Yamaguchi’s incident happened in January 2018 when he called the victim, a 16-year-old girl and told her if she wanted to come to his house and not just talk on the phone. She said she was bringing a friend and he responded that it was fine. He encouraged her to drink alcohol and forced her to kiss him.

Since the incident, it was at first thought that Yamaguchi was battling with alcoholism but he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and is currently undergoing treatment.

A few weeks ago, Yamaguchi made news again for driving while under the influence.

But it looks like Yamaguchi’s problem with alcohol has been an issue since he was with TOKIO .

A TV station staff member who worked on NTV’s “The! Tetsuwan! DASH!!” said that on a day of location, the manager picks up Yamaguchi at his home with a shuttle car.  But no longer how they waited, they couldn’t contact him by smartphone and the manager would search for him.  He would be found drunk and sleeping at his favorite bar in the afternoon.  The location shot for the day would be canceled.

Meanwhile, a staff member at a record label said that during TOKIO’s live performances, Yamaguchi told him that he would put sake in water bottle.
