Yamaguchi Momoe’s final concert was re-broadcast on January 30th

Yamaguchi Momoe was one of the most popular idols of the 1970’s.

She debuted at the age of 14 and shined all the way up to her 21st birthday until she announced her shocking retirement to marry Miura Tomokazu, who she starred in many CM’s and movies together (and to this day, the couple remains as Japan’s ideal celebrity couple in the Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company Rankings).

On October 5, 1980 her final concert was held at Nippon Budokan and was broadcast on NHK’s “Legendary Concert” on January 30th.  In fact, #山口百恵 trended #1 on Twitter Japan.

The concert was shown on NHK BS Premium last October but the response was great for a rebroadcast.
