AKB48 Team 8’s Suzuki Yuka’s activities have been temporarily suspended after tabloids reported she is dating a man

As an idol, especially a member of AKB48, the rules are strict, no relationships, no dating.  And unfortunately, AKB48 Team 8’s Suzuki Yuka (20) a.k.a. “YUUKARIN” has been caught by tabloids dating with a man.

Suzuki announced on her Twitter, “I apologize for the inconvenience caused to the fans, members and related parties due to my careless actions. I sincerely apologize. I deeply regret that I took actions that would lead to the news. I would like to suspend my AKB48 activities, so I can reflect of what I have done and will later aim to resume activities. I’m really sorry”.

According to the announcement, the performance of Team 8 is on May 4th, the Minegishi Minami graduation concert on May 22nd and the national tour of Team 8 on May 23rd was canceled.

Suzuki became a member on October 2019 as a AKB48 Team 8 representative of Shizuoka.
