ALI (Alien Liberty International), known for their ending theme song “Lost in Paradise” for the anime “Jujutsu Kaisen” has announced an indefinite suspension of activities after their drummer Kahadio was indicted on charges of fraud.
Sony Music Labels announced on its official website that they will stop shipping any CDs and video products, including digital distribution of sound sources and videos.
A statement was released, “Thank you for always supporting ALI. In response to the indictment of former member Kahadio (drums), our band ALI will suspend activities indefinitely. We would like to express our deepest apologies to all the fans who support us and all the people concerned”.
The label responded, “Today, we are taking seriously the indictment on May 14, 2021 and canceled the management contract with Kahadio Shirai and Kahadio Shirai will withdraw from ALI. We apologies for the inconvenience”.
The band was responsible for the theme song for the TBS anime “The World Ends with You” starting on June 10th, but now the theme song will be changed to another artist.
According to news reports, Kahadio allegedly conspired to trick a woman in Moriguchi City, Osaka Prefecture into transferring about 2.31 million yen to a bank account at an ATM at a convenience store in Saitama Prefecture on March 3 and 4. And Kadio is suspected of withdrawing about 420,000 yen from an ATM.
Kahadio was arrested on April 4th and re-arrested on April 23rd. He was indicted on charges of fraud on May 14th.
Kahadio reportedly told police, “I didn’t know what I did was fraud, but I figured I was involved in some kind of crime”.
