Kumada Yoko to divorce her husband after alleged physical assault

Talent Kumada Yoko (39) announced through her agency on May 31st that she is in talks with her husband for divorce.

Her husband was arrested on suspicion of assaulting Kumada on May 18th.

Kumada said in a statement:

“I’m very sorry for discussing my private life when everyone is having a hard time due to corona. At midnight on May 18, 3rd year of Reiwa, I was assaulted by my husband and I contacted the police when I felt I was in danger. My husband was arrested by a police officer who rushed to help me. This is not the first time that my husband has violently acted towards me, and I have become scared when my husband returned home.  I felt that it would be difficult to continue my marriage in such a state. After repeated discussions with my office and lawyer, I decided to divorce my husband and delegated the divorce procedure to my lawyer”.

Kumada and her husband married in 2012 and she gave birth to her third daughter in 2018.

On “FLASH”, her husband reported that he had accused Kumada of infidelity on the day of the incident.  According to investigators, her husband hit his wife in the face.  While he was released, Kumada did not withdraw the damage report.
