Okamura Takashi to return as Azuki Arai in Miike Takashi’s “Yokai Daisenso Guardians”

“Yokai Daisenso Guardians” (The Great Yokai War Guardians) is a work that is part of the “Yokai” trilogy produced and distributed by Daiei in the 1960s.

The film was remade in 2005 starring Kamiki Ryunosuke as the lead actor and made over 2 billion yen in the box office.

The latest film will feature the character Watanabe Kei, who asks for Japanese Yokai to help him counter the Yokai Beast who can lead the destruction of the world.

It was revealed that Okamura Takashi will be returning in the role as one of the yokai, Azuki Arai for the film. A character PV was released on July 3rd, which is Okamura’s 51st birthday.

Okamura said of him reprising his role of Azuki Arai, “Azuki Arai is me. The role is definitely not handed over.  I won’t give up this role to anyone!” and Okamura said he is enthusiastic about washing red beans once again.
