Atae Shinjiro to release one last album before suspending artist activities

AAA member Atae Shinjiro is currently based in Los Angeles.

The music artist has been living in the US for the past five and a half years but will be releasing his album “THIS IS WHERE WE PROMISE” on August 11th.

In a recent interview with Josei Prime, Atae talked about being the youngest member of AAA and when he was a teenager, and how he wanted to study English because he was addicted to the charm of life overseas, despite it making the other members concerned. Because he didn’t have time to learn English, he studied on his own while traveling on tour. Atae said that he was lucky if he could travel abroad twice a year because he didn’t have much time. But on the last day of the tour one year, he took a shower after performing at a venue and jumped on a plane to Hawaii.

Around the 9th anniversary, Atae said he told his manager that he wanted to study abroad and some people opposed it but Atae was determined to do something useful while living abroad.

Atae said “When I went to America, no one knew about AAA and looked at me weird. I need to experience and compare the ideas of those people. Without living in LA, I wouldn’t have been such a positive person, and I couldn’t have been so kind to people. If I hadn’t had friends in LA, I wouldn’t be that kind of person”.

As for living in LA and going back to Japan for live performances and promotions, Atae said of his life abroad, “I don’t like being bound by rules. I don’t bother people, so I don’t mind any negative opinions. I enjoy my life and I’m very happy now and am thankful for the people I met, because there are people who helped me”.

As for why he is suspending activities, Atae said, “I was thinking about what to do with my solo activities when AAA activities were suspended. When I was allowed to do a solo arena tour for the first time, I felt a great sense of accomplishment and had a valuable experience. Since I entered the office at the age of 14, I spent more than half of my life with AAA. I have a strong desire to carry out music activities as “AAA”. But with the suspension of activities of the group is close to delivering music without a goal, that’s the number one reason I decided to suspend my music activities”.

Atae also talked about his healthy lifestyle. “It was fun in my thirties, but it seems that my forties are nice and calm. So, I’m looking forward to getting older. But now that my mental health is stable, my forties may be a state of enlightenment. I committed to a healthy life , I have been drinking green juice every morning since I was a teenager. There are many health-conscious people in the United States, so I haven’t taken in any dairy products, due to the influence of my friends and for milk, I drink oat milk. The rest is a probiotic supplement for intestinal environment. The food I eat is mainly seafood and chicken, and I try not to eat beef and pork as much as possible. But sometimes I want to eat tonkatsu or a cheeseburger, it’s tough. I also don’t drink any alcohol and I exercise everyday”.
