The average household audience rating for the first half of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Closing Ceremony (7:58-8:49 p.m.) which was broadcast live on NHK on August 8th received an audience rating of 46.7% (Video Research, Kanto area). The rating exceeds the 25.1% of the 2008 Beijing Olympics which was from 7 to 10 p.m.
The last closing ceremony in Tokyo (the 1964 Tokyo Olympics) audience rating was 63.2%.
