Hosoda Mamoru’s “Belle: Ryu to Sobakasu no Hime” has exceeded 4.7 billion yen for its first 16 days, surpassing the Japan box office of his 2015 film “Bakemono no Ko” (The Boy and the Beast) in its first 16 days which earned 4.2 billion yen. “Bakemono no Ko” would eventualy earn 5.85 billion yen in Japan and $51.4 million yen worldwide.
