Actor and director Sakaki Hideo (51) is currently promoting the film “Hazard Lamp” which is to be released on April 15th.

But Sakaki has been accused of alleged forced sexual intercourse by multiple actresses (four women, who say it took place from 2013-2017), which was reported in “Shukan Bunshun” on March 9th. One woman said she was forced to have sexual intercourse in a parking lot after drinking together with him at a bar.  Another actress said she wanted to star in a short film that he was directing and he took her to a love hotel in fear that she may lose her role in the film, if she refused.  Sakaki threw her on the bed and had sex with her without contraception.  She refused to have sex but Sakaki allegedly did not listen and wouldn’t stop.  The actress fell into depression and was forced to undergo medical treatment afterward.

Sakaki admitted part of the article saying it had facts and non-facts.  He apologized to his fellow performers and staff of “Mitsugetsu” (Honeymoon) and his wife/singer Izumi and his family.

However, a movie cameraman Hayasaka Shin who has worked with Sakaki in numerous projects wrote an official blog statement, “I deeply apologize for not being able to stop the criminal activity while I was nearby.  (Sakaki) should apologize first and foremost to the victims”.

Actress/activiist Ishikawa Ayumi wrote a blog post about her casting couch experience from 2016-2017 by a director for a pink film.  Hayasaka wrote in his statement that when he read her blog post back then, he knew that she was talking about Sakaki.

The discussion has led the Japan Film Project to issue a statement on sexual harassment in the film industry.

His wife, singer-songwriter Izumi commented before a performance saying, “I apologize to the women whose heart and body were hurt by Hideo Sakaki in my house. I’m really sorry”. Izumi then bowed deeply. The mother of two daughters with Sakaki Hideo, hinted that she may be divorcing, saying, “I’m trying to end my marital relationship”.

Izumi then strummed her guitar and sung her song “Shikkaku” (Disqualification) and after her performance of the song, she screamed but then smiled towards the audience.

Ishikawa shared the article on her Twitter.
