『名探偵コナン』と『ONE PIECE』がコラボ 「週刊少年ジャンプ」34号表紙と「週刊少年サンデー」35号表紙

A collaboration between two major manga companies and their most popular long running manga series?

Aoyama Gosho’s popular detective manga “Meitantei Conan” and Oda Eiichiro’s popular pirate adventure manga “ONE PIECE” will be featured in a cover collaboration for “Weekly Shonen Jump” No. 34 to be released on July 25th and “Shonen Sunday” issue #35 to be released on July 27th. Also, an interview with both mangaka!

If you put together the covers side by side, Conan and Luffy are side by side!  It is a special collaboration as “Monkey D. Luffy and Amuro Tooru are on the cover of Shueisha’s “Weekly Shonen Jump” and for Shogakukan’s “Weekly Shonen Sunday” with Edogawa Conan and Roronoa Zoro are featured on the cover.

Collaborations like this never happen, so these two issues are a rarity to see from these manga publishes, so both will no doubt become true collectors issues.

Nakano Hiroyuki, Editor-in-Chief of “Weekly Shonen Jump” said, “I’m really happy to announce this project that will surprise and delight manga fans all over Japan. Over 100 volumes as serialized in the ‘Weekly Shonen’ magazine series. I would like to give my utmost respect to the achievements of both teachers who continue to run towards the top and I would like to thank them for living in this era when ‘Detective Conan’ and ‘One Piece are serialized. Let’s support Conan and Luffy heading toward a big mystery!”.

“Meitantei Conan” and “ONE PIECE” are immensely popular, long running manga in Japan. Gosho’s “Meitantei Conan” began back in January 1994, while “ONE PIECE” began back in July 1997.
