Johnny & Associates VP Takizawa Hideaki resigned, former V6 member Inohara Yoshihiko will be his replacement for Johnny’s Island

In a major news shocker happening in the Japanese entertainment world, Takizawa Hideaki (40) (actor and of Taki and Tsubasa fame) who was the Vice President of Johnny & Associates and President of Johnny’s Island has resigned.

His successor will be former V6 member Inohara Yoshihiko (46) as President for Johnny’s Island.

Takizawa was known for the founding of SixTONES and Snow Man and was seen as the future, taking the reigns of leadership after the passing of Johnny’s Jimusho founder Kitagawa Johnny.

According to Johnny & Associates, “Takizawa-san offered to resign in mid-September. The office side stayed with him, but respected his firm will. On September 26th, he was approved by the board of directors and resigned as the president of “Johnny’s Island”, and at the end of October, the executives of group companies such as the vice president of Johnny’s Office will also resign”.

Regarding the reason for his resignation, an agency official said, “I cannot speak for him because he is not there.”

According to an interview with “Sponichi Annex”, “Takizawa applied for his intention to leave the company through his lawyer, and both the office and Takizawa appointed an agent to discuss the terms and conditions”.

Takizawa declined to comment and said he has no plans to hold a press conference. Inohara takes over as president of Island. He said that he met Takizawa in early October, “He is also a man of integrity, so I somehow received the feeling that he should build a new style instead of what I thought”. There will be no successor to the office of vice president. According to a person close to Takizawa, Takizawa once expressed his intention to quit the agency before and after Tackey & Tsubasa’s hiatus in 2017.

Takizawa had retired from the entertainment world at the end of 2018 when he was appointed as a successor to the discovery and training of members. He became president of Johnny’s Island in 2019. In January 2020, he led the simultaneous debut of Snow Man and SixTONES.

Takizawa contributed to the generational change within the office. Furthermore, Travis Japan debuted worldwide on the 28th of last month. The stage play “Boys”, which he directed, is currently being performed at Misonoza in Aichi.

Inohara Yoshihiko joined Johnny’s Jimusho in 1988 and made his debut in 1995 as a member of V6. He is active as “20th Century” with the two other senior members of V6. He is also active as a host and actor and served as host of the Team White for NHK’s “Kouhaku Uta Gassen”.
