Former AKB48 member Shinoda Mariko (36) is going through a nasty divorce according to Nikkan Gendai.

Shinoda made headlines back in 2019 when she did a shotgun wedding with a man just 0 days of dating. She met with him, they bonded over their love of brown rice and they got married.

She gave birth to her first child and even won the 13th Annual Best Mother Award in 2021.

But since August, there were articles alleging that this past spring, her husband took her daughter while she was at a meeting and alleged that she was cheating on him with another man.

Mr. A (her husband) who had evidence, has filed a civil lawsuit against Mr. B (The adulterer) on December 1st. Mr. A worked as a beauty salon manager. Mr. B is an influential businessman in the venture area and developed a popular travel app and very well-known in the business community and also has a wife and has children.

Audio evidence has now been shared online:

On December 23, it was reported by Bunshun Online that Shinoda’s husband suspected her of having an affair and filed a civil lawsuit against the man with whom she had an affair.

[Note: In Japan, if there was an affair in a marriage, the person who was deceived, can file a lawsuit against the person their significant other had an affair with for monetary compensation.]

According to reports, Shinoda’s husband, who suspected an affair with the “representative director of a travel agency,” collected “evidence of adultery” and filed a civil lawsuit against the affair partner on December 1.

Since August, “NEWS Post Seven” has reported that the couple are separated and that divorce mediation is in progress. In response to the suspicion that “Shinoda’s affair led to a marital quarrel,” her agency responded, “It’s groundless.” It is said that Shinoda complained about the report to those around her at the time.

“It seems that Shinoda told those around her, ‘Don’t believe it because it’s all lies.’ However, in an article on ‘Bunshun Online,’ a voice recording of Shinoda admitting to her own affair has been made public. What should be done in the future?

The problem is over the custody of the child, while in many countries, custody goes to the women. Japanese courts tend to not award custody to a side which committed adultery.

In her defense, Shinoda Mariko has released a statement.

Shinoda writes, “I apologize for disturbing you with my personal affairs. Up to this point, I have refrained from speaking out for the sake of my family. Considering the future of my young daughter and the future relationship with her husband, I thought that I shouldn’t make remarks carelessly. I have received interview offers from many media outlets, but it is for the same reason that I have declined all of them. But let me make one thing clear. There is no evidence that I was having an affair. In the future, even if I stand in court, I will insist on that. I’m not in a position to ask for anything, but I would like to ask you to refrain from disturbing people other than me, such as my family, friends, and staff. Please.”.
