On the 26th, NHK Osaka Broadcasting Station announced that part of Hyakusaiji Temple in Higashi-Omi City, Shiga Prefecture, which is designated as an important cultural property, was damaged during the filming of NHK morning drama “Boogie-Woogie”.

According to NHK, while at the location, “Boogie Woogie” was being filmed with the permission of the Temple, just after 3:00 pm on the 25th, immediately after starting rehearsals for shooting at the wet edge of the main hall, the wood supporting the floorboard of the wet edge broke and the edge was broken. It is said that a part of the board of the board came off.

Hyakusaiji is the oldest temple in Higashi-Omi, founded in 606 (the 14th year of Suiko) at the request of Prince Shotoku. Known as one of the “Three Great Temples” east of Lake Biwa.

The main hall was designated as an important cultural property of the country, and the filming was immediately canceled. NHK apologized to the Temple and reported to the relevant agencies. There were no injuries to the performers or anyone involved.

NHK issued an apology, stating, “We deeply apologize for the damage to this valuable cultural property. We will follow the instructions of the relevant organizations and take appropriate measures for restoration, etc. We will once again thoroughly protect the cultural property.”
