AKB48 veteran Kashiwagi Yuki announced she is graduating from AKB48

Kashiwagi Yuki aka “Yukirin” (32) of the idol group AKB48 announced that she is graduating from the group at the first day of Nippon Budokan 3days in Tokyo on the 20th.

Kashiwagi announced, “I, Kashiwagi Yuki, am thinking of graduating from AKB48. Well, I think there were some people and members who thought it was about time, but I’ve finally made the decision to graduate. Even though we were doing a concert today, I honestly feel that being a member of AKB is so much fun every day that I’ve become dependent on the members and fans”.

Speaking to her juniors, she said, “I want everyone to lead AKB even further in the future.I would be truly happy if everyone like me could see me graduate, so I decided during the timing, to graduate. I will be holding my graduation concert on March 16th (next year) at Pia Arena (Pia Arena MM, Yokohama). The activities are scheduled to take place in April.The remaining six months of AKB48’s life… I want to have fun. I love the current AKB48 the most”.

Kashiwagi, the “oldest” active member, passed the audition for AKB48’s 3rd generation additional member in December 2006.
